Bates Family Brewing present plans for Abbey Barn brewery
Husband and wife team Bates and Miranda presented their ideas to a well-attended meeting in the village hall before the Parish Council meeting on Monday 30 October (pictured below). They have received Listed Building Consent and Planning approval to turn the listed Abbey barn into a brewery, subject to satisfactorily meeting several conditions covering such things as noise, lighting, highways and odour. Having explained how they plan to meet the conditions they took questions from the audience.
Parish Council Chair, Eoghan Shiels, thanked Miranda and Bates for their time and expressed the hope that the Parish Council and Duration Brewing would continue to enjoy a beneficial relationship during the planning process.
West Acre Christmas Market
This year's Christmas Market was held on a grey and grizzly Sunday afternoon, 3 December.
There was a good variety of stalls including pottery, wood, jewellery, textiles and garden pots. There was a steady flow of visitors during the afternoon.
The market made almost £500 for the flowers and plants fund which should ensure a good summer display around the village. Many thanks to all the people who contributed cakes, tombola prizes and supported the event.
Your support is much appreciated.
Festive fun and frights
On Saturday 28 October a large crowd gathered to celebrate West Acre's annual Halloween and Bonfire night. A record amount of children and adults entered the Halloween fancy dress competitions. Although they were scarily impressive everyone enjoyed this great family evening,
